Making the transparencies for etching

Making the transparencies for etching with a photosensitive polymer etching ground.

Start up Photoshop and resize your digital image (such as a photo or a scan) equal to or smaller than the zinc plate where it is etched in. The number of pixels is irrelevant.

Change the image mode to greyscale.

Change the image mode to bitmap.

. save

Print on a clear transparent sheet and follow the instructions of the computer workshop manual: (Greyscale – Face-Up – Tray 5 – transparency)

Or save the image as a PDF file to be printed in a more dense quality somewhere else, for example at Rijnja (http://www.rijnja.nl/rijnja-repro.htm) or Cito Repro (http://citoreprogroep.nl/).
